Monday afternoon’s NHL trade deadline dramatically reshaped the Rangers lineup. Two of the new additions, Ryan Spooner and Vladislav Namestikov, combined for five points in the first win in 17 days. The Rangers may not win a lot the rest of the season, but the games will be exciting.
Within two minutes and five seconds of the start of the game, the Rangers led 2-0. Just a 1:22 into the first period, center Kevin Hayes opened the scoring on a feed from Spooner and Brady Skjei. Less than a minute later, Hayes’ roommate Jimmy Vesey added to the lead.
