Technically someone had to win the matchup between the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers. Both teams are at different points in terms of goals, however, they are both off to slow starts. Even though Florida had fewer points than New York, they at least had a regulation win.
Things got off to a slow start for the Rangers as they were dramatically out-chanced in the first period. The Panthers had 21 scoring chances opposed to the Rangers’ 12. Even though the team was badly outshot, New York only trailed 1-0 after the first. Florida’s goal came from forward Vincent Trocheck.
