The New York Rangers announced on Thursday afternoon that they have agreed to terms with Kaapo Kakko on an entry-level contract. The superstar teenager is bringing his insane talents from Finland to New York.
Kakko, 18, went second overall to the Rangers after lighting up the Finnish Elite League. He broke the league record for goals scored by a U18 player. He chipped in 16 assists to go along with his record-setting mark of 22 goals.
While playing for Team Finland this past May, Kakko recorded seven points including six goals in 10 games helping Finland win a gold medal at the 2019 IIHF World Championship.
