The New York Rangers acquired center Peter Holland from the Montreal Canadiens this morning in exchange for winger Adam Cracknell. The deal came in wake of the team announcing that top line center Mika Zibanejad would be out indefinitely with a concussion.
Holland, 26, was drafted 15th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2009. After playing just 29 games with the Ducks over three seasons, Holland was dealt to the Maple Leafs in a November 2013 trade.
Holland made the Leafs’ roster in 2014-2015 and was productive in a bottom line role. The 6-foot-2, 205 pound forward tallied 20 goals and 32 assists in his first 127 games with the Maple Leafs.
