Man, you have to love Hockey Day in America.
It’s a day where we celebrate the world’s greatest sport and it’s homegrown players in our country. Today’s matchup between the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals featured 13 American-born players–six on the Capitals and seven on the Rangers.
In a hard fought game, the Rangers ended up topping the Capitals 2-1 in a matinee at the Garden. The Capitals came out flat in the first, as the Rangers outshot them 19-10 in the frame. This was understandable. They played last night in their first game back from their league-mandated bye week.
