After the New York Rangers were eliminated from the postseason by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 15-16, the team announced that Oscar Lindberg needed to undergo surgery for a bilateral hip labral repair. The injury and the surgery that was about to follow was expected to keep him out until November. The 25-year-old made his season debut a little bit sooner than that, though.
Lindberg rejoined the team on October 23rd against the Arizona Coyotes to bolster the team’s fourth line. The Swedish-born Lindberg did not look like himself when he came back to the lineup. As a matter of fact, it took him a long while to get back into a groove.
