The New York Rangers came into Arizona ready to face a weak team with only 10 wins on the season. The Arizona Coyotes and Anti Raanta wanted to get number 11 in a big way. It was a desert showdown as the two teams exchanged hits, shots and great saves by Raanta and Henrik Lundqvist. The battle needed more time to decide on a winner as the teams went into overtime, then a shootout where the Rangers defeated the Coyotes 2-1.
The New York Rangers were outplayed and outshot in the first period of tonight’s game and Jesper Fast made sure every Ranger fan and teammate knew what he thought as he was interviewed by John Giannone between the first and second period.
