New guys help Rangers end 7-game skid with OT win

VANCOUVER — The new guys are making a great first impression for the Rangers.

Ryan Spooner, acquired in Sunday’s Rick Nash trade with Boston, had three assists, including setting up John Gilmour’s game-winner in overtime and Vladislav Namestnikov had a goal and an assist as the Rangers snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 6-5 win over the Vancouver Canucks in the opener of the team’s Western Canada trip.

Gilmour scored with 3:38 left in the five-minute sudden death to give the Rangers a win in a game where they led, 3-0, 4-3, and 5-4.
