Somehow, someway, the Rangers didn’t collapse during Mika Zibanejad’s month-long absence.
In fact, the team went 8-4-1 despite not having the Swedish center’s offensive talents and leadership — including two overtime wins and a come-from-behind victory on the road against the Canadiens for good measure. But it’s starting to look like Zibanejad’s return from an upper body injury is finally here, with coach David Quinn saying Tuesday he should be back in the lineup to face the Hurricanes on Wednesday night.
“He and I had some fun about that,” Quinn said of the team’s successful record without Zibanejad.
