Mika Zibanejad Wins Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award for Second Consecutive Season

For the second consecutive year, Mika Zibanejad has won the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award.

Zibanejad had a sensational regular season for the Rangers, and finished with 41 goals and 75 points in 56 games played. His 0.72 goals per game was best in the NHL, and his highlight of the season was his five-goal game vs. the Washington Capitals.

He has continued to improve his career highs since joining the Rangers, and has solidified himself as a No. 1 center. Zibanejad has also continued to grow as a leader on the team, mentoring young players, being a public face of the team to the media, and is widely considered a favorite to be named the next captain whenever the Rangers decide to do so.
