TAMPA — Injured top-line right wing Mats Zuccarello skated with the Rangers’ extras Thursday at the Lightning's Amalie Arena as part of his continued rehabilitation from a head injury sustained on April 24.
Zuccarello, 27, resumed skating alone on Monday for the first time in 24 days. This is believed to be his first skate with teammates.
He has not played since Game 5 of the first round, a 2-1 Rangers win in overtime to eliminate the Penguins. A slap shot from Ryan McDonagh struck Zuccarello's helmet late in the first period. He left the game and has not played since.
