The Rangers dominated the Flyers all night, but Steve Mason was up to the task, stopping 16 shots in the first period and 34 total for the shutout. Henrik Lundqvist was just as good, but wasn’t given much help in front of the net on both goals that eluded him, as the Flyers snapped the Rangers three game winning streak.
The story of the game will be the goaltending of Mason and the Rangers pretty poor powerplay. It wasn’t so much that the Rangers didn’t score on the powerplay, it was that they looked terrible on their chances.
