EDMONTON – Rangers president Glen Sather, Friday night’s King of Alberta, perfectly capped a riveting and emotional banner-raising ceremony at Rexall Place surrounded by his family, with a touch of Yankee legend Lou Gehrig’s iconic 1939 speech.
“I sincerely wish that everyone in this building experience something, anything in your life that makes you feel like I do right now: the luckiest person on Earth,” Sather, 72, said from a center-ice podium to bring the house down.
