Wednesday night’s Rangers-Bruins preseason game at the Garden doesn’t count, but it matters.
Alain Vigneault said Tuesday in Greenburgh that he is not just going through the motions coaching the Blueshirts’ sixth and final exhibition match. He has 25 players on his roster, he intends to cut down to 22 by next Wednesday’s regular season opener in Chicago, and he still hasn’t decided which three must go.
“That one game is important,” Vigneault said after an active 70-minute practice. “We still haven’t finalized our opinion on that. We still have decisions to make.”
The key word there is “we.
