Kevin Klein scores the winner as Rangers hold on to beat Dallas

DALLAS — Kevin Klein’s wrister over goaltender Kari Lehtonen’s glove at 17:07 of the third period proved to be the winner as the Rangers scraped by the Stars 3-2 on Saturday.

Valeri Nichushskin had tied the game at 2 at 15:59, rallying the Stars after Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh’s high backhander along the goal line banked off Lehtonen and into the net at 8:26 of the third period for a 2-1 lead.

With the victory, which included 36 saves from Henrik Lundqvist, the Rangers concluded a three-game trip away from Madison Square Garden 2-1-0.

The Stars initially appeared to tie the game with 9:30 left on a scramble with McDonagh on his knees in the net and the puck under him.
