That’s it for Keith Yandle as a Ranger.
The Blueshirts traded the negotiating rights for the defenseman, an unrestricted free agent to be, to the Panthers on Monday in exchange for a sixth-round pick in next week’s draft, plus a fourth-round pick if Yandle signs with Florida. There was very little to no effort from the Rangers to try to sign him before free agency starts July 1, and barring any shocking development like Yandle hitting the open market and wanting to give a major discount to the Rangers, who announced his year and a half on Broadway are now history.
