This day has long been in the making. The New York Rangers announced on Monday that their first-round pick, second overall in the 2019 NHL Draft, Kaapo Kakko, will make his professional debut.
The 18-year-old has not appeared in either of the two games in the tournament. The Rangers prospects have a 1-1 record and will play their third game of the tourney Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. ET against Minnesota.
You’ll probably want to tune into this one.
