Rangers prospect camp came to a conclusion with Friday’s scrimmage at Chelsea Piers Connecticut in Stamford, Conn., with Kaapo Kakko helping to put a bow on it by scoring from in front against Igor Shesterkin.
It marked the first goal of the week’s three scrimmages — divided into five-on-five, followed by four-on-four and three-on-three — for the second-overall draft selection. The Finn showed quick hands and was able to drive the play in his best performance of the week after having essentially stayed off the ice since Finland’s final game victory in the world championship on May 26.
