Jarret Stoll grateful for second chance with Rangers

PHILADELPHIA - Jarret Stoll had every reason to breathe easier when Tuesday morning arrived.

"It's been a long summer," the veteran center said at his locker inside Wells Fargo Center.

The former Los Angeles King had an uncommonly long offseason. His team, which won the Stanley Cup in both 2012 and 2014, missed the playoffs for the first time since 2009, and he spent the summer under intense scrutiny following an April arrest in Las Vegas and a charge of felony cocaine possession. Stoll pleaded guilty to two reduced misdemeanor charges and completed 32 hours of community service.
