Jarret Stoll: From Erin Andrews condo sublet to awkward Rangers matchup

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Jarret Stoll had just woken up in his apartment building in downtown Manhattan on Monday morning when his phone rang. He was told the Rangers had placed him on waivers. So the first thing he had to do was tell his carpool buddies — Keith Yandle, Kevin Hayes and Tanner Glass — that he wasn’t making it to practice that day.

“So I texted the boys, said, ‘Sorry boys, not coming in today,’” Stoll said with a laugh Thursday morning at Xcel Energy Center.

And the 33-year-old forward was able to laugh because this is his new home, still in the NHL and with an up-and-coming Wild team who claimed him.
