As expected, Jake Leschyshyn has cleared waivers. He will be assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack in the AHL to clear the cap space.
Waiving Leschyshyn was Step 1 in the Patrick Kane trade. Step 2 was trading Vitali Kravtsov. With both salaries off the books, the Rangers will have enough cap space to trade for Kane by Wednesday, March 1. The wild card is the Ryan Lindgren injury, to which we have no news as of yet.
