LOS ANGELES — Delay of Game.
On the National Hockey League.
After enduring a delay of 6:58 for an offside challenge issued by San Jose coach Peter DeBoer at the Garden on Oct. 11 on a Brett Howden goal that stood, the Blueshirts (and the Kings) waited around for an astonishing 7:35 before Vladislav Namestnikov’s net-crashing goal at 11:11 of the first period was affirmed here Sunday afternoon.
After driving to the net from the right side, Namestnikov was sent flying into Kings goaltender Jack Campbell by Dale Lewis, thus knocking the net off its moorings just as the puck crossed the line.
