Igor Shesterkin was named the CCM/AHL goaltender of the month for October. The Rangers’ 4th round pick in 2014 posted a 1.49 GAA and a .942 SV% on 155 shots, allowing just six goals in that span and posting his first AHL shutout. The Hartford Wolf Pack went 5-1-0 in his six starts.
Shesterkin is considered the heir-apparent to Henrik Lundqvist, and it’s going to be difficult to keep him in the AHL if he continues to put up numbers like this. But as long as both Lundqvist and Alex Georgiev continue to put up solid numbers of their own, Shesterkin will carry the Pack.
