Per Vince Mercogliano, Rangers rookie goalie Igor Shesterkin, injured in a car accident last week and out with a fractured rib, is back on the ice and taking shots. Mercogliano noted that Shesterkin’s injury does need to be monitored daily.
Shesterkin has played extraordinarily well since his recall earlier this season. His return would give the Rangers a needed boost, but it would also return the Rangers to their three-headed goalie monster that has been a concern since January.
Either way – Shesterkin’s return would be a welcomed one, as the Rangers have struggled since the car accident.
