How undrafted, reliable Dan Girardi saved Rangers’ failed draft

The 2003 Entry Draft is the one in which the Rangers chose Hugh Jessiman with the 12th pick of the first round when Ryan Getzlaf, Zach Parise, Dustin Brown, Corey Perry, Brent Seabrook, Ryan Kesler, Mike Richards and Brent Burns were all still on the board, but you don’t need me to tell you that.

What you might need me to tell you, however, is that the 2003 draft was not an epic fail for the Eastern Conference finalists, no, not in retrospect and no, not so much at all, because that’s one of the drafts that spawned the Rangers career of Dan Girardi.
