The fancy stats that include goals-saved above expectation flatter Henrik Lundqvist and he knows it. For while the goaltender has often been exceptional under extended duress, he has also allowed the odd soft one that can debilitate a young team’s confidence.
“I feel good, technically I’ve been strong and moving well, but I feel like there’s been one goal a game I could stop that I haven’t, and one goal is a big thing in a hockey game,” Lundqvist told The Post following Tuesday’s practice. “These are tough games to play when you face what I guess is an average of 20 scoring chances a night, but that’s the way it is now in this league.
