Henrik Lundqvist will join MSG Networks as a Rangers studio analyst, the network announced on Wednesday.
The recently retired, future Hall of Fame goaltender will work select games, MSG said, joining host John Giannone and analyst Steve Valiquette. There is no set number of games, but it is expected to be around 20.
MSG said his first appearance will be on Thursday for the Stars-Rangers game.
"It’s exciting to be a rookie again, and to join my new teammates Steve and John on MSG Networks this season," Lundqvist in a news release. "The Rangers run through my blood, and I can’t wait to break down games for the best fans in hockey.
