Henrik Lundqvist knew at last year’s trade deadline that 2018-19 would be a challenging and different type of season than the first 13 of his career. But even the goaltender did not quite grasp just how mentally draining this would be and how much of a toll it would take on his game.
Speaking with The Post following Thursday’s practice, Lundqvist admitted he allowed the situation to seep into his game and will need to do a better job of managing his emotions next season.
Oh, yes. Even if the goaltender’s game wavered over the past two months, his commitment to being part of the rebuild program has not wavered in the slightest.
