Hartford Wolf Pack Sign Defenseman Jeff Taylor

The Clifton Park native spent four seasons at Union College — winning a D1 National Championship as a freshman — and posted a line of 18-74-92 in 149 games (0.62 P/GP). Upon finishing college, the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 2014 seventh round pick joined the WB-Scranton Penguins, and over two seasons appeared in 62 games tallying just nine points.

Taylor also spent some time with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL, and posted 20 points in 29 games spread over two seasons. The 25-year-old rear guard stands 5’11”, weighs 181 pounds, and is a left-handed shot.

As it stands the Wolf Pack have eight defensemen on the roster — with lefties in Yegor Rykov, Ryan Lindgren, Sean Day, and Brandon Crawley — not including Brendan Smith or Libor Hajek, and the signing of Taylor appears to be for depth or for Maine with Mariners of the ECHL.
