Everyone around the NHL seemingly nodded their heads in unison, knowing and accepting that what Brandon Prust said crossed a line and he would be punished for it on the ice.
That’s because there are the unwritten rules that govern hockey, and they absolutely undercut the integrity of the game.
Prust, the hard-nosed former Rangers winger now with the Canadiens, got into an altercation with Tampa Bay goalie Ben Bishop during Game 3 of their second-round series. He barely touched Bishop — though some previous run-ins were a bit harder — and the hulking netminder fell to the ice in a heap.
