Pavel Buchnevich is a restricted free agent this summer, one of four key RFAs for the Rangers. The 23-year-old winger is likely a key piece of the immediate future, and hopefully a key piece of the long-term future in New York. That said, Buchnevich’s early career has been riddled with inconsistency and constant shuffling up and down the lineup. Despite that, he has set a career high in goals this year with 20, and has an 82-game pace of 50 points, also a career high (37 points in 61 games).
Much of Buchnevich’s consistency this season has been blamed on a pair of coaches playing him on the fourth line with the likes of Cody McLeod and other non-talented players.
