After handing the New Jersey Devils their first win of the season last night, the Rangers are back in action 24 hours later. The Blueshirts will head into Capital One Arena tonight and clash with the Washington Capitals. The Capitals have been busy over the first two weeks of the season, having played eight games and compiled a respectable 4-2-2 record to open the 2019-20 season.
Although Washington swept last year’s season series with a 4-0-0 record, the Rangers forced three of the four games beyond regulation, and were only outscored 17-13. With hopes of competing for a playoff spot, the back-to-back-to-back-to-back Metropolitan Division champions serve as an early season measuring stick for New York.
