In the wake of their resounding defeat against the New York Islanders two nights ago, the Rangers will look to defend home ice and get back into the win column tonight. Alain Vigneault’s Philadelphia Flyers are in town for the first of back to back games starting tonight. This year’s edition of the season series has been one of the oddest ones the Blueshirts have ever had with a divisional foe.
In spite of outscoring the Flyers 27-16 in six games this year, the season series is tied at three games apiece. Each of Philadelphia’s wins have been by one goal margins, while the Rangers’ victories have come via shootout, 9-0, and 8-3 decisions.
