The Christmas break is fast approaching, but the Rangers will take the ice for a pair of games at Madison Square Garden before the holidays. The first of those games will be against Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and the rest of the Edmonton Oilers.
After an early season swoon, the Oilers opted to make a coaching change. Jay Woodcroft was shown the door, and Edmonton plucked Kris Knoblauch out of the Rangers’ organization to take over as their bench boss. Knoblauch has helped the Oilers get back into the playoff race, posting an 11-6-0 record since taking over a previously 3-9-1 Edmonton squad.
