Game 3: McDonagh could play tonight; pre-game notes

Ryan McDonagh skated with the extras this morning, and will have his injured right hand examined by a doctor this afternoon. If he gets the OK, he could play tonight.

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said that if McDonagh does not play, he still hasn’t decided whether to use Dylan McIlrath or Raphael Diaz on defense. But it sounds as if Brady Skjei will remain in the lineup either way. Dan Girardi also skated, but will not play.

Pittsburgh’s Marc-Andre Fleury (concussion) did not skate with the Penguins this morning, but both backup goalies, Matt Murray and Jeff Zatkoff, did.
