The St. Louis Blues have just signed former Rangers winger, Pavel Buchnevich to a nice contract. The 26 year-old will earn $23.2 million over the next five years. That’s an AAV of $5.8 million.
After seeing this deal, it sheds more light as to why Chris Drury opted to move on from the pending RFA. With both Kaapo Kakko and Vitali Kravtsov on ELC’s and cost control, it made sense to save money.
Free agency opens tomorrow.
Blues sign Pavel Buchnevich
“He’s got good size at 6-foot-3, he’s a left shot, can play the right side,” Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong said Friday after acquiring Buchnevich.
