Last year, Skjei inked a long-term contract with the New York Rangers, a deal that will keep the 25-year-old in New York for the foreseeable future (through the 2023-24 season to be exact).
Skjei got off to a hot start in his first full season with the Rangers, posting five goals and 34 assists for 39 points earning himself a slot on the NHL All-Rookie team alongside numerous other franchise accolades. However, his production saw a drop off in the last two seasons.
In his sophomore season, Skjei registered four goals and 21 assists for 25 points.
