TSN hockey analyst and former NHL defenseman Aaron Ward was arrested Friday afternoon in Cary, N.C., and charged with misdemeanor assault on a female after an incident involving his wife, according to reports.
Ward, 42, who played 60 games for the Rangers in the 2006-07 season, also was charged with interfering with emergency communication, according to WNCN.com, which first reported Ward’s arrest.
The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C., reported that Ward assaulted his wife “by pushing her” and that he interfered with emergency communications “by taking” her phone, according to a magistrate’s order.
Ward’s wife, Kelly, also was arrested for simple assault.
