PITTSBURGH — The emotion, the barreling momentum — oh, right, this is what it’s like when NHL teams start seeing and tasting the playoffs.
That was the case when the Rangers lost to the Penguins 4-1 at CONSOL Energy Center on Thursday night.
But maybe what the Blueshirts weren’t expecting was a blow-up from goalie Henrik Lundqvist, who was red hot in the tumultuous second period when his team saw a 1-0 lead turn into a 3-1 deficit in the final 2:13 of the period. Lundqvist did not start the third period, nor did he come out to the team’s bench.
