It doesn’t look like Ryan Callahan will get a chance for Rangers revenge this postseason.
Callahan’s Lightning hold a 3-2 lead over the Canadiens with Game 6 Tuesday night in Tampa, but he will be unable to play after undergoing an emergency appendectomy.
Callahan was traded from the Rangers to the Lightning last season as part of the deal that sent Martin St. Louis to the Blueshirts. Callahan, who was the Rangers’ captain, signed the long-term deal with the Lightning this offseason that he could not get with the Blueshirts.
The Lightning said Monday night that Callahan, who has no goals and three assists in 12 postseason games, was sent to Tampa General Hospital after experiencing abdominal pain earlier in the day.
