Dylan McIlrath was back at the Garden on Sunday, but also back in street clothes as a scratch for the Panthers in their 3-2 shootout victory over the Rangers.
McIlrath, who had played in only one of the Blueshirts’ first 13 games, has played in only one game since the Nov. 8 deal in which he was sent to Florida in exchange for Steven Kampfer and a conditional seventh-rounder.
That was Thursday night in Toronto in which the Panthers were beaten 6-1 and McIlrath was victimized on a flubbed defensive-zone pass for the Maple Leafs’ fifth goal.
