EDMONTON, Alberta -- It certainly was an eventful New Year’s Eve for the Rangers.
Down six goals and with their starting goaltender pulled from the game after he destroyed his stick out of frustration, the Blueshirts, in their final game of 2019, nearly made NHL history when they strung together five goals to scare the daylights out of the fans in Rogers Place before Kailer Yamamoto’s empty-net goal finally secured a 7-5 win for the hometown Edmonton Oilers.
