Check out the hit that forced Rangers’ Dan Boyle out of game

The Rangers were a man down, and the Garden crowed was surely unhappy about it.

Defenseman Dan Boyle went out with 10:27 left in the third period and didn’t return in the Blueshirts’ 2-1 Game 7 overtime win over the Capitals at the Garden on Wednesday night, sending them to the conference finals against the Lightning on Saturday.

Boyle was hammered on a high hit from hard-nosed Washington defenseman Brooks Orpik, plowing into Boyle’s head near the penalty boxes. Boyle tried to get up and skate back into the play, but fell down twice in a daze before going off to the dressing room with a team trainer.
