Brett howden’s late goal gives Rangers an opening-night thrill

Well, that was worth the price of admission.

The Rangers opened their 2019-20 season with an action-packed 6-4 win over the Jets on Thursday night at the Garden. The Blueshirts got goals from new additions Artemi Panarin, Jacob Trouba, along with a stellar debut from No. 2-overall pick Kaapo Kakko.

And the game-winner came when 21-year-old Brett Howden was able to bury a loose puck from in front with 4:09 left in regulation to give his team a 5-4 lead.

It wasn’t easy, as the Jets got a power-play with 1:37 remaining after Jesper Fast took an offensive-zone holding penalty.
