GREENBURGH, N.Y. – Brett Howden walked into the locker room after Rangers practice Monday as if nothing had happened. For anyone who had watched him crash into the end boards in the second period of Sunday’s 3-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres at the Garden, the sight of the 20-year-old rookie walking around looking none the worse for wear was practically stunning.
“I feel good to be here, and I’m just kind of taking it day by day,’’ said Howden, who almost didn’t seem to get what the fuss was about. “All the guys were asking me what [my injury] was, because it looked like it could have been multiple things, but I’m really lucky that it’s nothing serious.
