Rangers center Derick Brassard continued his strong play at the 2016 World Championships in Russia on Monday, scoring his second goal of the tournament and adding an assist as Canada shut out Belarus 8-0.
He opened the scoring--and thus was credited with the game-winning goal--at 16:26 of the first period. It was a power play goal for Brassard, scored from in front of the Belarus net and assisted by Corey Perry and Matt Duchene.
Brassard then returned the favor by earning the primary assist on a Duchene power play goal that it made it 4-0 Canada 11:19 into the second period.
