The 2016 World Championships came to an end Sunday with a gold medal around the neck of Rangers center Derick Brassard. Canada, with Brassard playing nearly 17 minutes, shut out Finland 2-0 in the Gold Medal game on Sunday.
Though he was held off the score sheet against Finland--Connor McDavid and Matt Duchene scored the goals for Canada--Brassard led Canada in scoring during the tournament, registering 11 points as the Canadians won nine of their ten games and Brassard notched at least one point in eight of those contests.
Brassard, who scored five goals and added six assists, ranked sixth among all scorers at the 2016 World Championships.
