Former Rangers defenseman and Hockey Hall of Famer Bill Gadsby is dead at the age of 88.
Gadbsy played seven of his 21 seasons with the Blueshirts from 1954-1961, amassing 58 goals in that span. For his career, Gadsby scored a total of 130 goals with 438 assists. The seven-time All-Star began his career with the Chicago Blackhawks in 1946 and was traded to the Rangers with Pete Conacher for Allan Stanley, Nick Mickoski and Rich Lamoureux on November 23, 1954. He is considered one of the 100 greatest Rangers of all time.

Gadsby retired as a member of the Detroit Red Wings in 1966 at the age of 38, before coaching in Detroit for seasons.
