Even the great Henrik Lundqvist can have ups and downs over the course of a long NHL season, and clearly he had a dip right after the calendar flipped to 2019. But after getting pulled from his first two starts of the New Year, and then sitting out four of six, including two in a row last weekend, Lundqvist was back in net Thursday for the second straight game.
As long as the Rangers continue to chase a playoff spot, playing Lundqvist as much as he normally does makes sense, but as the odds of making the playoffs become less and less, the question becomes how much time should backup Alexandar Georgiev get?
