Zack Wheeler and Michael Conforto didn’t finish Friday night looking much better than Matt Harvey.
Wheeler buried his teammates before their first at-bat, allowing five runs in the first inning, while Michael Conforto struck out four times — including the game’s final at-bat, with the game-tying and game-winning runs in scoring position — to give the Mets their fourth-straight loss, 8-7, to the Rockies Friday night at Citi Field.
The Mets (17-12) have lost 12 of their past 18 games.
Wheeler allowed hits to six of the first seven batters he faced — including the Rockies’ first three hitters — and earned the wrath of the crowd before the Mets stepped to the plate.
